Burroughs’s fold-in: Take two different pages from a newspaper or magazine article, or a book, and cut the pages in half vertically. Paste the mismatched pages together. (Cf.: William Burroughs’s The Third Mind.) For this experiment, I took a 1999 issue of National Geographic on Iran, and cut a page in half, glued it next to a page torn from a textbook from the early 00s on ethics in psychological treatment. This is what I discovered.
